Hutchison School, a PK2-12 school for girls, seeks a full-time middle school science teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Middle school teachers typically instruct four sections of approximately 17 students each. Candidates should be conversant with current practices in hands-on science education, physics, chemistry, and culturally responsive teaching. Most middle school teachers also supervise an advisory group and perform duties such as carpool, study hall oversight, and class trip chaperoning, as necessary.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching middle school and natural sciences in an independent school setting and will be comfortable teaching girls in a student-centered environment. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and advanced degrees are preferred. Candidates should be passionate about both the field of history and social science and the equitable development of adolescent girls.
