-The Postdoctoral Historian will collect information predominantly from four sources; priorities will be determined in consultation with Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA)
-The Postdoctoral Historian will catalog and store all material collected on a computer, backed up with a secure cloud account. The Postdoctoral Historian will consult with DPAA for guidance on naming conventions, database fields, and best practices for ensuring that the project's archival procedures and protocols conform with those used by DPAA.
-The Postdoctoral Historian will report directly to DPAA. The Postdoctoral Historian may informally advise and consult with student researchers, including any students enrolled in related independent study courses. The Postdoctoral Historian may teach one course on any subject for the University of Nebraska each year. The Postdoctoral Historian will engage with external entities as approved by DPAA staff.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
PhD in history in hand by May 2021.
US Citizenship is required.
PhD in history in hand by May 2021, preferably with a specialization in American diplomatic history with modern East Asia
Experience conducting oral history interviews
Demonstrated media and/or AV production skills
Ability to quickly absorb new content, make content connections, and formulate new inquiries within conversational/interview situations
Experience working within a governmental environment and/or military culture
Demonstrated ability to be flexible within a changing work environment, produce detail-oriented work products, and meet deadlines
