Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, is searching for a Creative Director to coordinate and oversee all school marketing and communication efforts. Calvert School is dedicated to educating girls and boys through its time-tested method of teaching and its rigorous curriculum. Particular emphasis is given to mastering essential skills, inspiring a lifelong love of learning, and instilling enthusiasm, responsibility and self-discipline. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83.
The responsibilities for the Director will include the following duties:
Provide strategic leadership and vision in all areas of marketing and communications and oversee the school’s brand management to ensure consistency.
Oversee the School’s Communication Specialist and serve as an editor overseeing and managing all school communications to all constituents. Manage the School’s website and create, manage, and facilitate school-wide communications calendar and manages media relations.
Serve as the School’s primary photographer, graphic designer, and videographer and manage all social media sites and content.
Qualifications of the ideal candidate include the following:
A Bachelor's degree from a four?year college or university and Master’s degree is a plus.
Three to five years of experience in marketing or communications, working with graphic design, photography, and/or video.
Must have excellent writing, grammar, editing, interpersonal and organizational skills, and must have the ability to work with independence in dealing with the diverse elements of the academic environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Google Suite is required and experience in web design and web contact management is preferred.
Exceptional photography skills is strongly preferred.
Expert knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere. Experience with After Effects is a plus.
Experience with SEO and Google Analytics is preferred.
Video recording and editing skills is preferred.
