The Digital Imaging Specialist maintains the University Libraries' Digital Imaging Lab at the Digital Commons. The Digital Imaging Specialist provides guidance and instruction to all university instructors, regardless of technology experience, about using the lab for their teaching and research. The Digital Imaging Specialist serves as a team member at the Digital Commons, an initiative of the Vanderbilt Libraries aimed at equipping Vanderbilt faculty with the skills they need to use digital technologies in their research and teaching. The Digital Imaging Specialist works collaboratively with staff at the University Libraries, the Center for Teaching, and the Digital Commons, as well as with others involved in supporting teaching at the university. An ideal candidate will enjoy developing others' knowledge about digital imaging as well as seeking their own professional development opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities
Training and supporting Vanderbilt instructors as they learn to use digital imaging tools and technologies
Providing hands-on training to instructors in both individual consultations and group settings;
Assisting instructors as they learn digital imaging tools at the Digital Commons as well as other settings;
Creating documentation for instructors who are learning digital imaging tools;
Serving as liaison from the Digital Commons to the Visual Resources Center.
Maintaining the University Libraries' digital imaging equipment and facilities at the Digital Commons
Preparing, testing, and troubleshooting digital imaging hardware and software;
Liaising with external vendors and internal support offices for technical service;
Staying informed about current and next-generation digital imaging technologies.
* A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience * Expertise with copystand photograph is required; * Ability to set up, configure, and break down digital imaging equipment is required; * Experience with overhead book scanners and/or turntable scanners is preferred; * Understanding of metadata formats for digital images is preferred; * Proficiency with applications in the Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred.
