The Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California seeks a highly qualified adjunct instructor to teach PR 342 Advertising Media and Analysis Â This course will integrate studentsâ prior knowledge and understanding of advertising and marketing while Â focusing on the media and communication aspect of advertising campaigns. The instructor will examine the constantly evolving media landscape and career paths in media as well as the principles and fundamentals of media planning, buying and selling and the role each plays in executing media successful campaigns. Each class will include lecture, discussion on current media topics, and lab time for in-class assignments. Successful applicants will need to be able to demonstrate how traditional, digital, and social media platforms work together in multi-media campaigns.Â Students will expected to learn to develop media strategies and tactics; evaluate audience measurement, delivery, and targeting; media scheduling; budget allocation; and media math. Because of the lockstep nature of our curriculum, willingness to adhere to the established class curriculum is required.
Requirements for consideration include a B.A., B.S., M.S., or an M.A. degree in a related field.Â Previous teaching experience is desirable.Â For some courses, outstanding professional experience may be substituted for academic credentials.
