Stratford Preparatory offers an incredible opportunity to be the Founding English and Humanities Department Chair, a part of a new and dynamic high school in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Are you an inspired, curious, and action-oriented educator? Are you interested in designing innovative programs and curriculum benchmarked to the highest global standards? Are you interested in guiding high-performing students exploring authentic interests and passions, learning how to evaluate and apply the relevant knowledge, and acquiring future-ready skills for the complex landscape of tomorrow?
As our English and Humanities Department Chair, you will work with a small cohort of teacher-leaders and advisors who will serve as “founding faculty.” You will begin working together to develop the high school’s curriculum and programs, contribute to classroom design plans, promote the school to prospective students and their families, help select the first class of students, and assist in hiring the first complete set of teachers, who will begin their work in Summer, 2022. Founding faculty will work closely with the school’s founding head of school, fourteen months before the high school opening.
As a start-up school, we require individuals possessing an entrepreneurial spirit who view ambiguity as an opportunity. The ideal candidate is resilient, flexible, always learning, and knows how to lead. A desire to create a dynamic experience for our learners with a solution-focused mindset is essential. If you think education should equip students to live in new and better ways, taking charge of the future so they can shape it and deal with its challenges, we want to meet you!
