Proven ability to provide leadership to an academically diverse community of exceptional scholars in various disciplines, including advanced computer technology, science, and math, as well as the arts and the humanities.
An earned Ph.D. and at least 10 years of experience in teaching and academic leadership.
Essential functions of this role will include:
Provide effective and innovative leadership to faculty, staff, and students in the carrying out of the school’s academic and other functions.
Implement robust programs and structures for fostering mission-centric spiritual maturity and growth for faculty and staff, and across the university community.
Constantly and proactively review and improve quality and mission-centricity of all programs, including especially an emphasis on teaching and student learning.
Manage and administrate all school assets, including faculty workload, to achieve operation at maximum effective capacity and sustainability.
Participate in the development, implementation and execution of a robust approach to recruitment of new students, and to the maximum appropriate retention, persistence and graduation of existing students.
Work closely with school faculty to design and operationalize a discipline-specific research and scholarship agenda aimed at high quality scholarship that influences and impacts the culture in key areas.
Work closely with the Office of Academic Affairs in all aspects of the academic enterprise.
Participate fully with other deans on the Deans’ Council, Academic Council, President’s Cabinet, and other university-wide bodies.
Interact professionally, promptly and completely with all university offices, including enrollment management, advising, registrar, financial aid, and student services.
Foster and maintain a student-centric culture focused on serving with grace and integrity the academic and spiritual needs of the campus community of learners.
