The Baker Institute is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to conduct internet and library research, data collection and analysis, as well as serve as rapporteur for some research-related seminars. In addition to these general research activities, the postdoctoral fellow will be required to undertake his or her own major inquiry into a related subject of his or her choice, to be approved by the Center for Energy Studies (CES) director. This self-directed research, under the tutelage of the Baker Institute's CES director, will culminate in an authored monograph that may be published by the institute as part of its energy studies. Compiling data, analysis and theory into published work on behalf of the energy program is also part of the responsibilities of this position.

PhD or foreign equivalent in Economics, international relations/area studies, public policy or other closely related field. One or more years of experience conducting research in energy policy studies and working in a team, time-sensitive and deadline driven environment preferred.
- Advanced skills in oral and written communications - Proficient in the use of personal computers, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Power Point - Strong social and oral communication skills
- Assist the ongoing research of the Baker Institute Center for Energy Studies by conducting internet and library research and collecting and analyzing data - Write and research self-directed monographs as part of major energy studies being conducted by the Baker Institute as well as write and research conference reports, articles and study summaries - Participate in publication and grant writing under supervision of CES senior director - Provides academic services (ie. teaching classes) to the department as required - Performs all other duties as assigned
