The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, an innovative and growing program at the University of New Hampshire, invites applications for Department Chair (Associate/Full Professor). We are looking for a dynamic, inclusive, and visionary candidate who can lead faculty to expand a rigorous research, educational, and clinical program.  Building on our programâs nearly 50-year history, over the past six years faculty have established active research laboratories in cognition and language, motor control, prosody, social communication, and augmentative and alternative communication. In addition, the department faculty have expanded clinical specialties including literacy, swallowing disorders, transgender voice, and bilingual speech-language pathology. These advancements have enabled us to attract quality students from across the country. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate effective leadership to enhance an inclusive and diverse community of faculty, colleagues, students, and staff; expand faculty and student scholarship; and strengthen clinical innovation and excellence. This person will mentor faculty to secure external funding; orchestrate a blend of clinical, educational, and research activities; and collaborate with colleagues to develop a clinical doctoral program and an interprofessional Ph.D. program. This person will have a strong record of research and academic accomplishments, with the opportunity for tenure at hire. The anticipated start date for this position will be Summer 2022.
·   PhD in communication sciences and disorders or a closely related field·   A distinguished record of research evidenced by a strong publication record and extramural funding commensurate with appointment at the associate or full professor level ·   Evidence of leadership experience in academia·   Past successful mentorship of faculty and graduate students·   Experience with undergraduate and graduate curricula·   Evidence of excellence in teaching and a strong record of service to the field or profession commensurate with rank at the associate or full professor level·   A commitment to sustaining and advancing the goals of the institutionâs diversity of students, faculty, staff, and community groups. Candidates are expected to understand and be able to articulate the importance of equity, inclusion, and diversity in the field of CSD·   CCC-SLP is preferred
