Position overview
Position title: Porter Non Core Courses Pre-Six Lecturer
Salary range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience and the particular courses the lecturer is appointed to teach. Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.
Percent time: Variable, based on the course load assigned.
Anticipated start: Appointments are contingent on the hiring units instructional need and the availability of funding. This recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in spring quarter 2022 through spring quarter 2023. Initial appointments with effective dates outside of this recruitment period will require an alternative open recruitment.
Position duration: Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.

Position Description
Porter College at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach Porter non core/ enhancement courses in one or more of the following subject areas: arts, engineering, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences. Successful candidates will be expected to teach 2-credit or 5-credit courses in their area of expertise.
Porter College is especially dedicated to fostering achievement in the arts and humanities. Applicants with expertise in art history, creative writing, dance, environmental art, film and video, literature, philosophy of art, photography, theater arts, and visual art are strongly encouraged to apply.
We are also interested in applicants with college-level teaching experience and/or experience teaching first-year university students.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Masters Degree (or equivalent foreign degree); or two years of artistic and creative work, consisting of publications, performances, exhibitions, or installations; or two years of scholarship published in print or web-based media.
