General Description:
Niagara County Community College has a need for part-time instructors to teach introductory courses in Sociology in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Division.
These classes are typically in-person (face-to-face) three lecture hours per week during days and/or evenings at the main Sanborn, NY, campus or at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute in Niagara Falls, NY. They can also be face-to-face enhanced with a Zoom option, asynchronous online, blended synchronous on Zoom, hyflex (face-to-face, synchronous Zoom, and asynchronous online), and hybrid (in-person and online).
Applicants must be able to attend in-person meetings, professional development, and other obligations on the Sanborn campus even if teaching online or at NFCI.
Effective 9/1/2022, remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $854 per lecture hour/$765 per lab hour.
Niagara County Community College is doing its part to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus within our work environment and requiring that all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Therefore, the candidate that is selected for hire of the position must show proof of vaccination status to the Human Resources office after an offer of employment is accepted. NCCC will consider requests for medical and religious exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccine requirement.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, Niagara County Community College will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis, and candidates will be contacted when the department has an opening. Candidates who submit their information may or may not be notified as to the status of their application.

Essential Functions:
Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Must be able to communicate effectively with students, co-workers, supervisors, and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position and must adjust any teaching to the Americans with Disabilities Act provisions.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Sociology or related field. Excellent written communication skills as demonstrated by application materials.
