Position Summary
Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire Career Development & Placement process for SHRLR
- Teach orientation programs for both undergraduate Human Capital & Society and Masters of Human Resources & Labor Relations students
- Offer workshops to students related to career preparations in human resources & labor relations
- Coordinate career development materials, videos, media and assignments to help students learn the skills needed to be successful in recruiting for employment as well as working in the world of work
- Provide career advising for both undergraduate Human Capital & Society and Masters of Human Resources & Labor Relations students
- Oversee recruitment planning including on campus recruitment operations
- Partner with employers to schedule on-campus recruiting events
- Oversee relationship development and management with returning and new recruiting employers
- Conduct discussions and strategy conversations among multiple recruiting employers
- Work with alumni to provide mock interview and mentoring opportunities for students
- Manage the tracking of student and employer interview data
- Generate and analyze student preferences survey, resume books, placement data and reports
- Recruit, train and supervise career peers, called Career Team Leaders and other students who support advising efforts
- Work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Build and sustain strong professional relationships and networks
- Partner with College of Social Science Development Office to engage alumni
- Collaborate with MSU Career Services Network Employer Relations to coordinate on-campus recruitment efforts

Required Degree
Masters -Social Science or related field.
Minimum Requirements
- Masters -Social Sciences or related field
- At least 1 year of experience in career development, human resources or a related field
- Preference for candidates with prior career services experiences
- Proven ability to work with individuals from diverse social/economic/cultural backgrounds
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Ability to manage, organize, and advise students
- Ability to effectively work with employer recruiters
