WKCTC is a comprehensive community college that provides excellence in teaching and learning, promotes student success, and supports economic development.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive array of academic, career, and support services for currently enrolled historically underrepresented and marginalized students.
- Serve as assigned advisor for a cohort of students. Assist in course selection and sequencing, degree planning, and retention support services.
- Monitor and manage an annual budget related to goals and operational needs.
- Provide one-to-one and small group counseling and consultation, assessing student needs, academic monitoring, college success advising, and other retention strategies.
- Supervise cultural programming for the campus community, as well as intensive academic, skill-building, and social programming for students, including mentoring, academic advising, scholarship tracking, and early academic intervention
- Work in collaboration with the Dean of Students and supervise the Coordinator of Student Activities
- Utilize retention tools such as Starfish and Illume to facilitate outreach and academic support to students.
- Assessment – Maintain accurate statistical data/reports regarding prospective students via the CRM (Radius); compose routine communication to prospective students and families; participate in New Student Orientation
- Track and participate in strategies to ensure compliance with the Council of Postsecondary Education (CPE) and WKCTC Strategic Plan. Serves as lead for the CPE Diversity Plan.
- Prepare reports and narrative materials relevant to the college's DEI activities.
- Act as a liaison with administration, faculty, students, and community leaders
- Serve on college committees as assigned, including the Retention Committee.
Successful candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree (Higher Education, Social Work, or related field) and three years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
Additional preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education, Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Must have excellent planning, budgetary, organizational, presentation, and human relations skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills and must be creative in managing challenges and change, able to perform under pressure and work with diverse constituents
- Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to work non-traditional schedules with events during the evening and weekends
- Commitment to the mission of a comprehensive community and technical college and student success
- Personal and professional integrity with an emphasis on confidentiality and attention to detail
- Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects at once
- Must have a strong understanding and knowledge of historically underrepresented and marginalized student populations, and economic assets and barriers
- Valid driver's license for travel purposes
