Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor
Penn State Beaver invites applications for an Accounting, Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor; multi-year appointment (rank determined by qualifications) for 3 years with potential for renewal. This is a 36-week appointment, to begin August 1, 2022 or as negotiated.

Responsibilities: Teach 12 credits each semester of lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses in accounting using traditional, hybrid and online delivery methods. This position entails teaching both for Penn State's World Campus Business B.S. Program (BSBIC) and the Penn State Beaver Business B.S. Program (BSBCC), delivering the majority of courses online to the World Campus and others face-to-face and hybrid to Penn State Beaver. Courses may include introductory financial/managerial accounting, intermediate accounting, accounting information systems, auditing, and taxation, among other offerings.
Participate in course, curriculum, and program development and assessment. Engage in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Ability to foster student success for diverse student population in terms of college readiness and interest in teaching accounting using real-world examples and applications preferred. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Engage in activities to stay current in the discipline.
Qualifications: MBA, master's in accounting or equivalent degree for the Lecturer or Ph.D. (will consider ABD if appropriate) in Accounting for Assistant Teaching Professor. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is desired. Experience and success in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.

Penn State Beaver is one of more than 20 Penn State campuses state-wide. It is a student-centered campus of approximately 550 students. The coursework for the first two years of more than 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors is offered, as well as 9 baccalaureate degrees. Students and faculty at Penn State Beaver have all of the resources of a major research university at their disposal, but in a small college atmosphere. Class sizes are small and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive much individual attention.
