The Tippie College of Business seeks candidates for an Assistant Director in their Undergraduate Program Office. The position is responsible for the experiential learning initiatives that encourage Tippie students to learn by doing. The portfolio includes the oversight of the Tippie RISE (Research, Internship, Study Abroad, Experiential Course) experiential learning component, with a specific focus on research, experiential courses, and honors. Responsibilities will require occasional time outside the 8:00am to 5:00pm workday to support student activities and events.

Responsibilities
Plan, design, and implement educational programs and events to strategically promote honors and research opportunities to fulfill the learning objectives of the Tippie RISE requirement.
Coordinate events to foster honors student engagement within the Tippie community by advising the Tippie Business Honors Society (TBHS), acting as the collegiate chapter advisor for Beta Gamma Sigma, supervising the Honors Ambassadors, and guiding students through the Honors in the Major (HITM) process.
Collaborate with Tippie faculty on experiential course designation, mentored research, and HITM, and partnering with the College's honors director on honors student support.
Monitor the academic, career, and personal goals of Tippie students to develop or promote available Tippie RISE opportunities.
Develop a strategic communication plan to build awareness about experiential learning, honors, and research in the Tippie community.
Manage enrollment process for BUS:3600 Mentored Research, including research interest form, database, matching students to faculty, research agreement form, and permission to enroll in the course.
Oversee updating and management of academic planning publications.
Facilitate the scheduled review of experiential courses and maintain database of approved courses.
Train new staff about honors advising and provide periodic updates about experiential learning to UPO staff.
Promote and showcase Tippie RISE learning opportunities including: internships, international, service-learning, honors, research, or other approved experiences to students. This may include teaching LS:1024 Hawkeye Service Breaks.
Serve as liaison to the University Honors Program and the University Experiential Learning Committee on matters including honors completion and best practices in experiential learning.
Coordinate and develop Tippie RISE presence on the TCOB website and social media. Collect student photos and stories for social media to engage prospective and current students, staff, faculty.
Plan and monitor the budget for the Tippie Honors Program (research grants, select honors scholarships, TBHS activities, and student stipends).

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
Typically, 1 to 3 years in a student services role supporting undergraduate success such as academic advising, academic support and retention, residence life, admission counseling, study abroad advising, career advising, student life or similar.
Experience fostering and promoting values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Working knowledge of and experience in program management and/or event planning and execution.
Expert knowledge of and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and large groups both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Desired Qualifications
Master's degree in business, student affairs or a related field.
Experience as a participant in a study abroad experience as a student.
Reasonable experience with planning, implementing, and assessing study abroad programs and their impact.
Reasonable experience working individually with undergraduate students in an ongoing advising or mentoring capacity.
Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures related to undergraduate students.
