Position Summary
The faculty member in this position will teach two courses per semester. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in Entrepreneurship with courses in other areas assigned on an as needed basis.
Detailed Position Information
The University of Alabama Culverhouse College of Business is inviting applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in Entrepreneurship. This is a very exciting time for Entrepreneurship at The University of Alabama and in the Culverhouse College of Business. Under the leadership of Dean Kay Palan, the College has made enhancing our academic capabilities in Entrepreneurship a strategic priority.
We are seeking colleagues to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an innovative, productive researcher with a record of successful, student-centric teaching to help us continue to build our research capability, our culture and our impact. Our new colleague will join a diverse team of Entrepreneurship including Craig Armstrong, Paul Drnevich, Vishal Gupta, Will Jackson, Lou Marino, Jeffrey Martin, and Theresa Welbourne. We are seeking a seasoned Assistant Professor or a new Associate Professor. We are open to abroad range of research foci but are especially interested in those focusing on entrepreneurial behavior (macro or micro) or cognitions, HR in entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial teams, and growth in entrepreneurial firms. Our Entrepreneurship program offers classes at the Doctoral, MBA, and undergraduate levels and is housed in the Management Department.
Minimum Qualifications
1) A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Entrepreneurship or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited Business School; (2) demonstrated potential for conducting high quality research and publishing in top Management and Entrepreneurship journals (3) demonstrated potential for high quality teaching in Entrepreneurship.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will have (1) a demonstrated record of publications in the leading Management and/or Entrepreneurship Journals and (2) a history of teaching courses in Entrepreneurship, (3) the ability to work with faculty in one, or more, of our core research areas of Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Human Resources or Organizational Behavior. Preference will be given to candidates with experience and/or interest in mentoring and teaching doctoral students.
