Teaching track Assistant Professor position (start date Fall 2023). The Department of Social & Decision Sciences (SDS) seeks highly qualified candidates who can deliver excellent undergraduate instruction and curriculum development in decision science while also maintaining a modest research presence. Candidates should have a PhD in Psychology, Behavioral Science, or a related discipline by the start of the appointment, and demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate courses including classes in judgment & decision making, research methods and statistical analysis. The successful candidate will teach in the undergraduate curricula in Decision Science; Behavioral Economics, Policy, and Organizations; and Policy & Management and supervise undergraduate research. Teaching track faculty members teach the equivalent of 6 sections per year and engage in other instructional activities such as supervising undergraduate research. They receive full time salary and benefits and proceed through a promotion sequence of successive 3- or 5-year appointments.
The Department of Social & Decision Science has been at the forefront of behavioral decision research for four decades and hosts a renowned faculty. In addition to PhD programs in Behavioral Decision Research, Cognitive Decision Science, and Behavioral Economics, SDS offers unique undergraduate majors in Decision Science; Behavioral Economics, Policy, & Organizations; and Policy & Management. The Center for Behavioral and Decision Research unites behavioral researchers across the university, maintains laboratory space, and sponsors a colloquium series.
