Position Summary
The Department of History, College of Social Science Michigan State University invites applications for a pool of qualified fixed-term instructors/assistant professors to teach one or more undergraduate courses in African History. These positions will be filled on an as-needed basis within two years of the position posting date. Positions may be for one or more semesters, including fall, spring and summer.
Please note that a position may vary by semester, depending on the needs of the department. It is possible that no positions will be needed in some semesters. Renewal may be possible based on department teaching needs, funding and performance. Salary and terms are negotiable depending on experience and rank.

Required Degree
Doctorate -African History
Minimum Requirements
A Ph.D. or equivalent degree is preferred (and is required for the assistant professor rank). Candidates must have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence and/or significant work experience in African History.
Positions at the instructor level require a Master’s degree from an accredited university.
