Description
An integral part of the Center for Teaching and Learning, this position assists in providing services to students and faculty. The CTL Administrator & Student Support Specialist (CASSS) provides HWS students with a prominent, approachable, knowledgeable, welcoming professional as the first point of contact in addition to providing administrative support to the Director and the CTL staff. Among other responsibilities the CASSS handles inquiries from faculty, staff, students, and parents, manages calendars, has oversight of the student assistants' budget and operating budget in coordination with the Director, coordinates planning and logistics for CTL events, maintains website, and conducts basic research for special projects as needed.
Office Management
- Orient students, faculty, parents, prospective students and college community with office resources.
- Select, train and supervise Student Office Assistants.
- Manage student payroll and budget
- Manage office purchasing and budgeting reports
- Manage Teaching and Learning lending library
- Manage office data collection
- Organize and maintain supply of materials used for programs and seminars.
- Support the work of the CTL staff.
- Event Coordination
- Publicity Coordination
- Manage all social media for CTL and programs.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Other Information:
This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible hourly position. This position description is not all-inclusive as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Possess strong communication skills and be willing to take initiative
- Strong customer service orientation; positive, helpful, resourceful
- Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to unique social, cultural, and economic circumstances of others
- Highly reliable, flexible and adaptable
- Discretion, sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills in dealing with students, faculty, administrators, parents, handling confidential information, and communicating with all campus constituencies.
- Superior attention to detail, problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and electronic, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of diversity and the ability to interact with a diverse population.
- Ability to work as a team member to build strong working relationships across campus and in the broader community.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of various office practices & procedures, and competency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple, on-going and complex student matters.
