POSITION: Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in K-12 Educational Leadership (non-tenure track)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Educational Leadership prepares graduates for exemplary leadership of public and private institutions and for educational research through graduate and undergraduate programs. Our department is deeply committed to the highest quality faculty, integration of faith and learning, cutting-edge research, and student mentorship. The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Directing clinical experiences for the Educational Leadership EdD program
- Maintaining close professional relationships with school districts and state-wide educational leadership networks or associations (travel required)
- Addressing field experiences issues and concerns alongside faculty and district mentors;
- Teaching graduate-level courses
- Contributing to the continued growth of the educational leadership graduate programs
- Recruiting, mentoring, and supervising graduate students
- Providing service to the university and the profession
SCHOOL: Baylor's School of Education celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019 and has a well-established reputation for excellence in developing dynamic educators, leaders, and researchers. With more than 60 full-time faculty, the school's growing research portfolio complements its commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentoring. The school boasts an array of academic offerings housed in three academic departments: Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, and Educational Leadership. Baylor's award-winning undergraduate program in teacher education serves approximately 400 students and has earned national distinction for innovative partnerships with local schools that provide future teachers with extensive clinical preparation. Likewise, the school's more recently established graduate programs to prepare principals and superintendents are recognized for their excellent preparation of school leaders.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Consistent with the stated mission of the Baylor University to be a world-class institution dedicated to Christian principles and ideals, the qualifications for the position include:
- Earned doctorate in educational leadership, administration, and supervision (or closely related field)
- Texas Principal and Superintendent Certifications
- Expertise and a highly successful record of service in school leadership and executive/district leadership (such as central office administration or the superintendency)
- Capacity to direct and coordinate field experiences in consultation with school and district leaders
- Experience teaching graduate courses
- Strong commitment and evidence of ability to mentor graduate student dissertation research
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion among faculty, staff, students, and communities across Texas
- Ability to advance the Christian mission of Baylor University
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful record of both school (secondary level preferred) and district-level leadership (such as director, assistant or associate superintendent, or superintendent)
- Involvement in local, regional, state, and/or national educational leadership networks or associations
- Record of conducting and publishing research (or strong potential of such)
- Proficiency in successfully promoting and celebrating the efforts of an organization with the broader public via social media and/or professional networking
- History of and/or strong potential for obtaining external funding
