Position Announcement:
The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University (IU) in Bloomington, Indiana invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position to begin in August 2023 in the Department of Information and Library Science (ILS). Faculty research areas in ILS include social informatics, digital humanities, documentation, digital libraries, data curation, information retrieval, music informatics, text mining, computer mediated communication, and more. We are particularly interested in hiring in the area of knowledge infrastructure including information architecture, open access, open science, information retrieval, and media preservation and archives.
The Department of Information and Library Science (ILS), formerly the School of Library and Information Science, has a long, successful history, having graduated over 8,000 students since it opened its doors in 1946. U.S. News & World Report ranked the Bloomington Information and Library Science program ninth nationally in its most recent rankings. Graduate degrees offered in the Department are a Master of Information Science (MIS), a Master of Library Science (MLS), and a Ph.D. in Information Science.
The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering is the first of its kind and among the largest in the country. Its mission is to excel and lead in education, research, and outreach spanning and integrating the full breadth of computing, information technology and modern engineering. It includes over 140 faculty and 2700 students. Departments in Luddy School include Computer Science, Information and Library Science, Informatics, and Intelligent Systems Engineering.

Basic Qualifications:
