The Department of Sociology at Augsburg University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach introductory courses in sociology and urban studies during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 academic years. Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate level, such as courses in: Introduction to Sociology; Introduction to Urban Sociology; Introduction to Social Psychology; Family Systems; Race, Class, Gender; Introduction to Criminology, and upper-division electives in Urban Sociology. Most classes are held in person during the day. Some classes meet weekly or biweekly in the evenings. Instructors are expected to respond to student questions through email and hold regularly scheduled office hours. This is a union position, covered by a collective bargaining agreement with SEIU. Pay starts at $4,750 per course. Three courses are possible.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Sociology or closely related field.
At least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework in Sociology or closely related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Teaching experience at undergraduate level in Sociology or related field.
