Description:
The Department of Leadership Studies and Adult Education in the College of Education at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. The department seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and creative scholar-practitioner committed to quality teaching, student success, strong research, and scholarly productivity.
A successful candidate for the position is expected to do the following:
Teach a range of graduate courses, online and face-to-face, in adult education, higher education and community college leadership, and research.
-Design, teach, and facilitate small and large group experiential learning activities in a blended learning environment
-Provide student advising and mentoring
-Engage in programmatic curriculum development and assessment
-Participate in thesis/dissertation advisement and serve on committees
- Contribute to the scholarly enterprise of the adult education program the College of Education, and the university community which includes procuring extramural grant funding, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and conducting presentations at state, regional, national, and international professional meetings and conferences.
-Attend and serve on college, departmental, and university faculty committees
-Remain current in theory and practice related to program content
-Support community engagement activities and participate in other activities as assigned

Requirements:
Applicants must possess:
-An earned doctoral degree in Adult Education, or an earned doctorate in a related discipline with a specialization in Adult Education
-Degree must be acquired from an accredited university at the time of appointment
-Demonstrated evidence of promise for teaching at the graduate level
-Demonstrated evidence of research and scholarly productivity
-Demonstrated evidence of service activity
-Knowledge of pertinent theories and practices as they relate to program content
-An ability to teach in face-to-face and virtual settings
- An ability to serve on thesis committees
-An ability to work with diverse adult populations in academic and professional work situations
-Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

- A record of teaching adult education course content at the graduate level (face-to-face and virtually)
- Demonstrated record of research in the field of adult education
- Demonstrated record of scholarly publications in the field of adult education
