Description of Work:
The Institute for Ethnic Studies and the Department of History at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) seek a specialist in Indigenous American History to be appointed as a tenure-track assistant or associate professor beginning August 2023. The successful candidate will offer introductory interdisciplinary courses in Indigenous studies, survey courses in Indigenous American history, and specialized upper-level and graduate courses in Indigenous American history. Particularly welcome are candidates with lived experience navigating tribal social structures, and the successful candidate may also have research and teaching expertise in environmental justice, digital humanities, women's and gender studies, Great Plains tribal cultures, and/or LGBTQ+ studies. Depending upon interests and expertise, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to become a Fellow at UNL's Center for Digital Research in the Humanities or to become a Fellow at UNL's Center for Great Plains Studies.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in History or a relevant related field is required and must be in hand by August 14, 2023.
- Candidates must demonstrate a record of scholarship and training in Indigenous American History and a teaching record supporting the ability to offer introductory interdisciplinary courses in Indigenous studies, survey courses in Indigenous American history, and upper-level and graduate courses in the field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in History.
- The ability to teach Indigenous American History at the graduate level.
