The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Accounting effective September 16, 2023. This is a full-time position with a 9-month service period. The successful candidate will be expected to perform high quality research, teach a variety of Accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and be willing to contribute as an engaged colleague to serve our growing school, campus, and community. Applicants from all research areas of Accounting are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach in one or more of the following areas: AIS, accounting analytics, auditing, financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, and other advanced accounting courses. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, candidates with the ability to teach taxation.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach in multiple modalities, including online, hybrid and in-person, in an urban-serving campus environment with a diverse student body, many of whom are first generation college students.

The AACSB-accredited Milgard School currently has more than 700 students in its undergraduate, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Accounting (MSAcc), Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), and Master of Cybersecurity and Leadership (MCL) programs, in addition to undergraduate minors in business data analytics, sports enterprise management, and corporate responsibility. The School's Centers for Leadership and Social Responsibility, Business Analytics, Financial Wellness, Entrepreneurship, and Wealth Creation offer opportunities for teaching, research, and community outreach related to its mission. The base salary range for this position will be $17,778-$19,455 per month ($160,000-$175,100 per 9-month academic year), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include a one-time relocation allowance, if applicable. Applicants must have a PhD degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution. Applicants must demonstrate excellence with respect to scholarly research, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
