Position Summary
The Department of Anthropology at Michigan State University is currently establishing a pool of part-time fixed-term assistant professors. These positions will be filled on an as needed basis per academic year. Applicants in this pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy as needed within two years to begin as early as August 16, 2022.
Duties/Responsibilities include:
Teaching undergraduate courses in any of the sub-fields of the Anthropology Department, including sociocultural, anthropological linguistics, medical anthropology, physical and forensic anthropology, and archaeology.
Courses may also include those that are part of the department’s Integrated Studies in the Social Sciences offerings.
Courses may include in-person, online, or hybrid sections.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Anthropology
Minimum Requirements
Experience teaching at the college level.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated record of teaching excellence preferred.
