North Carolina A&T State University, College of Science and Technology invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Information Technology in the Department of Computer Systems (CST), starting in January 2023 or August 2023. The appointment is expected to be at the assistant professor level. An appointment at a higher rank might be considered for exceptionally qualified applicants. In particular, CST is seeking qualified candidates who can develop an innovative research program in one or more of the following areas: software systems design, software engineering, enterprise network services/management, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, embedded systems, hardware security IoT, machine learning, and data and text mining.
The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching online undergraduate and graduate-level courses, conducting research, student recruitment and advising, student mentoring, curriculum development, engaging in program assessment and accreditation, and providing service to the department, college, and university. The ideal candidate is expected to develop and maintain a vigorous research program in her/his field of expertise in Information Technology, secure extramural funding, and direct MS and Ph.D. students' research activities. Collaboration with colleagues from the sciences, mathematics, and other technology areas is strongly encouraged.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is an 1890 land-grant doctoral research university dedicated to learning, discovery, and community engagement. The College of Science and Technology integrates science, mathematics, and technology to advance knowledge and prepare the next generation of science and technology leaders. The College embraces the mission of the University as a land-grant doctoral research institution with a distinction in STEM by expanding new frontiers in science, creating novel technologies, developing innovative approaches to STEM teaching and learning, and formulating scientific and technological solutions that lead to transformative social and economic development. The College houses the departments of Applied Engineering Technology, Biology, Built Environment, Chemistry, Computer Systems Technology, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, and the PhD Program of Applied Science Technology. The College is experiencing substantial growth in enrollment, faculty size, curricula, and research.

The Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, both accredited by ABET, a Master of Science in Information Technology which is consistently ranked amongst the largest graduate programs on campus, and an Information Technology concentration under the collage Applied Science Technology PhD Program. CST is a growing department and currently consists of 10 full-time faculty.

Requirements:
Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. or terminal degree in information technology, computer science, computer information systems, computer engineering, or a closely related field by the anticipated date of appointment.
Preferred:
A research track-record in Software Systems Design, Software Engineering, and Enterprise Network Services/Management, Cybersecurity, Cloud Security, Cloud Technologies, Embedded Systems, Hardware Security IoT, Machine Learning, Data and Text Mining, and related areas. Experience as a postdoctoral research fellow and familiarity with ABET accreditation is also preferred.
