Departmental Overview
Facilities Services works to maintain a campus built environment that isconducive to teaching, learning and research. We strive to continuouslyimprove the campus in partnership with all members of the campuscommunity. Campus Operations provides ongoing support for buildingsand facilities throughout UC Berkeley including the Central Campus, andother University satellite facilities. We operate round the clock to maintainover 11 million square feet of building space, 1,085 acres of land includingthe Hill campus.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for delivering training and development programs, including coordinating translation if necessary.
- Consults with instructors to determine methods for delivery of course content and effective use of technology.
- Works in a collaborative manner with a diverse staff community in Custodial, Grounds and Cal Zero Waste to administer, organize and conduct existing employee training programs and develop or coordinate development of new programs specifically for Facilities Services Campus Operations, e.g.: training of new employees, production & service standards, safety & sanitation, annual employee trainings, etc.
- Works closely with other Facilities Services groups in the development and coordination of Campus Operations staff development and engagement programs to ensure clear understanding of job expectations and standards.
- Conducts needs analysis and evaluates effectiveness of Campus Operations professional training programs.
- Works in a collaborative manner with others in a diverse environment and at all levels in the organization to prioritize work assignments, conduct analysis and develop recommendations.
- Monitors training results through employee progress, customer service feedback and through in the moment observation.
- Prepares, completes, and submits documentation for new employees, including new employee packets, account activation forms, etc.
- Gathers and analyzes training resource data, prioritizes work assignments and develops training program recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
- Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Campus Operations.
- Develops training materials in various media (e.g. manuals, videos, etc.) to ensure consistent application of standards and procedures.
- Consistently work on developing new forms of communication to improve relations with staff and administration.
- Applies professional training and development skills to resolve and address a wide range of training issues and needs assessments for Custodial, Grounds and Cal Zero Waste.Receives general instructions on new training program assignments, projects and initiatives.
- Normally receives little direction on on-going training assignments.
- Collaborates with campus partners as well as the Facilities management team for engagement and programming.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.
- Serves as a resource to staff and managers for assistance with UC systems such as CalNet and UCPath.
- Coordinates UC, State, Federal and other mandated training with HR and EHS.
- Oversees the administration of the New Employee Orientation for Campus Operation.
- Builds relationships with campus partners to provide more resources to staff.
- Maintains training database and keeps records of training attendance (i.e. sign-in sheets).
- Assess viability for coordinating internships and externships for Facilities Management staff.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas.
- Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and strong presentation skills.
- Thorough knowledge of ot ability to learn campus policies and procedures.
- Strong understanding of Custodial, Grounds and Refuse & Recycling Collection processes.
- Thorough knowledge of current training programs and trends.
- Strong skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new training courses to meet organizational needs.
- Thorough knowledge and skills with relevant business software systems; i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
- Strong skills in planning, resourcing and monitoring effective delivery of training.
- Ability work with employees who are not native English speakers.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn UC specific programs (CalNet, UCPath).
Education/Training:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalentexperience / training.
Salary & Benefits
- This is a full-time (40 hours/week), career position, and eligible for full UC benefits.
- This is an exempt, monthly paid position. The annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $67,000.00- $93,100.00.
- This is a remote-friendly position, eligible for 50% remote capability.

Other Information
This position will involve access to hardware, commodities, and technical information subject to the Export Administration Regulations or International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
