Morristown Beard School is seeking a full-time history teacher for grades 9-12 for the 2023-24 academic year. The ideal candidate will implement a progressive, multidisciplinary, and collaborative approach in the classroom and contribute to our school’s supportive and caring environment in which students learn and interact positively with each other.
Able to teach history grades 9-12 and electives
Serve as an advisor
Encourages a culture of mutual respect and equitable practice
Exhibits knowledge of student cognitive development and various learning styles
Communicates effectively with students and families about classroom activities and student progress
Identifies and supports students’ social, emotional, and behavioral learning needs
Implements Project-Based Learning techniques and strategies
Scaffolds instructional activities that facilitate engaging and appropriate learning opportunities
Differentiates instruction based on feedback, needs, and learning levels
Designs formal and informal assessments that measure student progress
Provides timely feedback and collaborates with faculty to offer specialized support
Demonstrate commitment to an equitable classroom culture inclusive of varied student experiences and identities
Open to coaching, directing a club, or supervising activities
Bachelor’s Degree in history or related Humanities
Minimum of three years teaching experience
