The Assessment and Analytics Coordinator collaborates with the University Libraries and campus experts, stakeholders, and users to build, maintain, and sustain a culture of assessment promoting relevance and effectiveness of programs, resources, and services.The following are the main responsibilities of the Assessment and Analytics Coordinator:
â¢Facilitate the identification of emerging trends directly impacting the libraries abilities to engage
the academic community.
â¢Initiate, collaborate and advise on cross-departmental quantitative and qualitative user and
research studies.
â¢Collect and analyze library and user data gathered from various sources including library
systems, vendor statistics, observations, surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
â¢Incorporate routinized and reproducible tools and workflows whenever possible.
â¢Develop, implement, and maintain information systems to collect, store, process, and
disseminate data for internal decision-making and external reporting.
â¢Generate analysis and translate insights into written reports, visualizations, and dashboards to
inform organizational decision-making.
â¢Provide consultation, training, and documentation to support library staff as they gather,
process, analyze, manage, and report data related to library resources and services.
â¢Manage data collection for annual reporting for the Libraries; including gathering, reviewing and
evaluating, and synthesizing data submitted by library departments and professional school
libraries.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Promote the assessment and analytics program enabling library measures, assessment of programs, services, and resource utilization and user experience. Work with the Head of Assessment and Analytics and other library staff in the assessment of library programs and services to plan assessment activities and training for staff who participate in these activities, as well as creating work flows and programming to direct library-wide assessment activities.
- Collect and analyze data and prepare reports and presentations; provide assistance to others in collecting, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, satisfaction data, usage data and suggestions. Co-lead the Assessment and Analytics Committee, coordinating and managing their activities and represent assessment point of view on committees/task forces. In collaboration with libraries and external expertise assists with the development of strategy to identify the extent of library activities and program utilization through program of transactional data gathering, preservation, storage enabling strategic identification of metrics and other indicators of library impact.
- Consult with library leaders and staff on assessment needs and methods; collect data, assemble reports for relative organizations, such as university or approved entities. Actively collects data for ARL, ACRL, IPEDS, and other annual statistical reporting. Annual university surveys with students, faculty, etc.
- Be engaged in professional communities and learning opportunities that sustain current knowledge base and expertise relevant to position, such as IASSIST, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Accredited MLS/MLIS and five years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and interpretation; knowledge of current technologies for data collection, manipulation, analysis, and reporting; skills in and experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including surveys, user interviews, focus groups, and usability testing methods.Â
- Experience with quantitative analysis methods and tools such as SAS, SPSS, OpenRefine, or MS Access or expertise with qualitative analysis tools such as NVivo or Atlas.ti; experience with Google Analytics; experience with Qualtrics or other online survey tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills; experience leading project teams; ability to work independently and as a member of a team.Â
- Ability to present complicated information in easily comprehensible formats, e.g. data visualization, appropriate use of charts, etc.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or R.
- Experience in academic libraries and knowledge of assessment tools in academic libraries.
- Experience with program evaluation and statistical analysis.
- Experience in data management and/or knowledge management.
- Experience in administering surveys and using other research methods.
- Experience in the collection and reporting of data for ARL, ACRL, and IPEDs.
- Ability to perform quantitative and qualitative assessment studies.
- Strong information management and organizational skills.
- Competency with statistical and data visualization software.

Required Qualifications
Bachelorâ™s degree and four years of related work experience or a masterâ™s degree in math, statistics, economics computer science, psychology, social work or related field plus two years of related work experience.

G13Salary Range
$63,900.00 - $109,100.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
