The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a one-year visiting lecturer position in cultural anthropology. The teaching load is five courses, including one or two sections of Introduction, depending on need. Upper-level courses that complement the geographic and topical areas of other courses in the department are especially welcome.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of strong teaching at the undergraduate level and experience mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion.

Candidates will be required to submit:

1. A cover letter (1-2 pages single-spaced) that addresses the trajectory of the candidate's research and publication.
2. A current curriculum vitae.
3. The names and contact information for three professional references
4. Three statements concerning (a) teaching philosophy, (b) research interests, and (c) a statement about mentoring a diverse student body.
5. Sample syllabi from a sole-taught course.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and we will begin review in late January.
