Position Function
Seeking an outstanding individual to assist with research in Dr. Liu and Dr. Sorrells' labs to:
- Develop vectors and constructs for wheat transformation
- Evaluate phenotypic performance of various wheat lines under different abiotic stress conditions
- Develop strategies to evaluate and characterize mineral-nutrition-use efficiency in crop plants
- Conduct, analyze, interpret, and report research
- Supervise technical staff/students
- Present results in the form of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presentations at scientific meetings
Anticipated Division of Time
Lab Research 70%; Writing 25%; Other 5%
Requirements
- Ph. D. in plant molecular biology, genetics, development or a related discipline is required.
- Expertise in molecular biology, gene cloning, and biotechnological approaches.
- Experience with quantitative genetics and GWAS approaches will be a plus.
Supervision Exercised
This position may supervise technical staff and students.
