1. Work independently to manage and organize educational outreach programs in the local community. 2. Plan workshops including assessing and selecting speakers from Yale or other external organizations. 3. Select books, journal articles, dissertations and other materials for inclusion in outreach programs. 4. Serve as a liaison to educational and public history organizations, such as local museums and cultural institutions. 5. Develop and grow existing efforts to work with teachers at local educational institutions of all levels by publicizing the resources available at Yale, including collections and experiences available through its museums, libraries, and galleries. 6. Coordinate and investigate funding sources for professional development projects for educators and other community members. 7. May oversee and manage summer programs. 8. Assist in the selection of graduate students or fellows who will participate in the program and facilitate further outreach. 9. Assist in developing and maintaining the program's social media presence, including websites, Facebook, Twitter and other platforms. 10. Coordinate with other program members to publicize programmatic events and activities.

Preferred Education:  Exp in public education, developing curricular materials, administering outreach and/or community programs. Knowledge of/exp. w/ Black Atlantic/African American history and culture. Exp with media/public relations. Ability to engage communities on social media. Exp partnering w/ foundations/corporations on grant opportunities. Curatorial or public history exp. Exp teaching K-12 or college level.

1. Master's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years related experience or bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 4 years related experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. Writing and reporting skills in an academic research environment with strong understanding of the relevant subject matter. 3. Experience with grants including narrative grant writing and data gathering for applications.
