The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) invites applications for one full-time (1.0 FTE) Spanish position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The initial appointment is a one-year term with the possibility of renewal, contingent on successful review. The teaching load is three (3) four-credit courses or equivalent per semester and will include a combination of beginning, intermediate and advanced courses in Spanish.

Minimum Qualifications | The successful candidate will have ? Ph.D. in Spanish but the specialization is open, in hand by the end of October 2023. ? Demonstrated experience and effective teaching of courses in Spanish language and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world ? Native or near native proficiency in Spanish and English ? Commitment to and experience working with diverse populations ? Demonstrated passion, innovation, and enthusiasm for all levels of language instruction, and interest in advising student activities |

Preferred Qualifications | Special attention will be given to candidates who possess: ? Experience in innovative curriculum development and interdisciplinary coursework ? Familiarity with General Education courses and ACTFL proficiency guidelines are desirable ? Experience including social justice topics in language courses ? Commitment to and experience working with heritage speakers |
