Job Summary:
This faculty position provides instruction in American Indian Studies and is prepared to teach in a closely related field such as multicultural studies, history, anthropology, sociology, etc. Housed in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Division, this position coordinates the American Indian Studies program and serves as a liaison with Student Services, local American Indian tribes, community service organizations, and other educational institutions. The North Idaho College American Indian Studies program has one full-time instructor, which this position fills, and is an important part of providing students with a broad liberal arts education and preparation for academic transfer.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Master's degree in American Indian Studies, Indigenous Studies, Ethnic/Multicultural Studies, Anthropology, History, Sociology, Education, or related field. Graduate and/or undergraduate coursework must exhibit a strong emphasis in American Indian Studies. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge and authentic experience with traditional and contemporary American Indian issues and history, culture and lifeways, and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.
