Phoenix Country Day School is currently seeking a dynamic and collaborative educator to teach Middle School Social Studies for the 2023-2024 school year. 

General Responsibilities Include: 

• Teach 4 sections of World Cultures, with an emphasis on developing research, discussion, and writing skills

• Act as a 6th-grade advisor, with the ability to foster genuine student connections and belonging

• Perform additional duties as needed 

The ideal candidate will fulfill the following qualifications: 

• A bachelor’s degree in History, education, or a related field with an advanced degree, preferred

• Ability to create student-centered lessons, rooted in building a culturally responsive class environment

• Creative, cross-curriculum collaboration within the grade level and the department that promotes the school’s mission of diversity and inclusion 

• Use skill-based grading to measure and report student learning 

• Enjoy working with an innovative grade-level team to foster the emotional well-being and academic success of middle school students 

• Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral

• Exhibit optimism, flexibility, and creativity
