Position Summary:
The Department of Psychology at The University of Alabama invites applications for two Assistant Professor positions (Focus: Teaching and Advising) beginning August 16th, 2023. These positions are for 9-month non-tenure-earning renewable appointments of up to three years.

The Department of Psychology at The University of Alabama invites applications for two Assistant Professor positions (Focus: Teaching and Advising) beginning August 16th, 2023. These positions are for 9-month non-tenure-earning renewable appointments of up to three years. Renewal is based upon satisfactory performance review, staffing needs, and funding. Faculty could be eligible for promotion through the academic ranks. Summer teaching opportunities are available. The position involves teaching and advising undergraduate students. For one position, a background in neuroscience is preferred. Preferred qualifications include a PhD in psychology or related field; experience in teaching introduction to psychology, neuroscience, statistics, and a variety of courses; experience with undergraduate advising; and experience integrating principles of diversity/equity/inclusion into teaching activities.
The Psychology Department has 37 faculty, approximately 1400 undergraduate majors, 900 undergraduate minors, and 85 doctoral students. It is seated within the social sciences division of the College of Arts and Sciences. The University of Alabama is a student-centered research university located in Tuscaloosa, a city of 100,000 that was named an All-America City by the National Civic League.
