Music & Media Librarian
Collection Development and Management
The University of California, San Diego Library seeks creative, collaborative, and service-oriented applicants for the position of Music & Media Librarian to be part of the Collection Development and Management (CDM) Program (Assistant, Associate or Full Librarian). The Music & Media Librarian serves as the subject specialist in Music, overseeing music collections both digital and analog, liaising with the Department of Music, and providing instruction, reference and research consultations. The Music & Media Librarian is also responsible for developing moving image collections both in streaming and physical formats including advising subject librarians on developing these resources in their respective disciplines. The position will be part of the Arts & Humanities Collection Team and work closely with Scholarly Tools and Methods (STM) on Digital Collection projects, Special Collections & Archives (SC&A) on developing and teaching with archival collections, Metadata Services (MS) consulting on description, and Academic Engagement and Learning Services (AELS) when providing public services and outreach.
Responsibilities of the Position - The Music & Media Librarian is responsible for collection development, instruction, reference, and research advisory services in Music & Media; working closely with the Department of Music faculty, staff, and students, Art Power, the performing arts initiative on campus, and other constituents pursuing music scholarship on the UC San Diego campus. The Music & Media Librarian is also responsible for providing support to constituents working with media in their research, teaching and learning.

Offers graduate degree programs in Composition, Computer Music, Integrative Studies, and Contemporary Performance, and undergraduate degrees in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts, Music Humanities, and Music, with an emphasis in composition, literature, performance, technology, or jazz.
