2023-2024 Recent Ph.D. Lecturers - UC Davis Sociology Department
Position Overview:
A reasonable estimate for this position is $64,329.
The Department of Sociology offers new Ph.D.'s from the UC Davis Sociology Department the opportunity to apply for one-year, non-renewable appointments as Recent Ph.D. Lecturers. This program is housed entirely within the Department of Sociology, and Recent Ph.D. Lecturers will teach Sociology courses exclusively. The number of positions and the percentage of time offered will depend upon funding and the number of courses available. These Recent Ph.D. Lecturer appointments are for one year only.
The primary purpose of these appointments is to help recent Ph.D.'s with demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching to become more competitive in the increasingly challenging and difficult job market. By affording additional teaching experience and time for research while applying for tenure-track jobs, these positions will provide important opportunities for professional development as recent Ph.D.'s transition from graduate school to permanent positions.
Demonstrated experience in teaching, and advanced degree in Sociology or related discipline is required. We will prioritize recent and current graduate students who have worked closely with the Sociology program at Davis.
Eligibility and Application Procedure:
To be eligible for appointment, dissertations must be filed with Graduate Studies by August 18, 2023.
To apply, please upload the following materials onto UC Recruit by no later than Monday, May 15, 2023:
