Description
The Department of Psychology at the University of New Haven invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, Lecturer position in Counselor Education & Supervision beginning Fall of 2023.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have expertise in Counselor Education & Supervision and teach masters-level counseling courses (e.g., multicultural and diversity issues in counseling, trauma and crisis intervention, assessment, and family counseling). Special consideration will be given to persons trained to teach forensic counseling courses, but this is not required. The successful candidate will coordinate the online CMHC program An earned doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision is required (ABD applicants may be considered; however, completion of degree must occur no later than the end of the first academic year of appointment); degrees from CACREP accredited programs are preferred. The successful applicant will be licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Connecticut (or equivalent licensure issued by another state). The position may be online or on ground in West Haven, CT.
The successful candidate must be a dynamic instructor and able to teach undergraduate and master’s-level courses using online, hybrid, and face-to-face modalities. Experience in advising, mentoring, and providing clinical supervision to graduate counseling students is expected. Other duties include coordinating the online CMHC program (e.g., staffing, curriculum development, maintaining CACREP accreditation standards), and participation in faculty-mentored research. A commitment to serving culturally, ethnically, and linguistically diverse communities is expected.
