SUMMARY

We are seeking a dynamic teacher who is forward-thinking, innovative, collaborative, and enthusiastic in their approach to their classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated an integration of emerging technologies, diverse teaching strategies, and varied modes of assessment focused on learning outcomes around creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach approximately four sections of Humanities-related courses (English-Language Arts and Social Studies) to students in 5th-8th grade
- Serve as a middle school advisor for a group of 10-12 students
- Serve as an involved and committed member of the faculty
- Actively pursue and participate in professional development opportunities to further our school mission
- Collaborate with colleagues in developing new curricular initiatives
- Enact and implement diverse teaching strategies and modes of assessment
- Model a growth mindset in all aspects of professional endeavors
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A master’s degree (or significant work toward one) and recent teaching experience are preferred
- Understanding of child development and educational needs for students in 5th-8th grade
- Flexibility in response to the changing needs of a dynamic learning community
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Physically able to perform essential functions in a variety of settings
- Ability to use a variety of technology to facilitate communication and documentation
