The Lab School of Washington, a progressive, arts-based independent school, seeks an innovative and talented arts educator to teach history - specifically the time of the Renaissance throughout the world.
This experiential, hands-on, theme-based and highly interactive course, Academic Club, is the cornerstone program at The Lab School. This is a unique opportunity to weave the visual arts into a rigorous curriculum.
Candidates must have
- a BA in Art or History; graduate degree ideal.
- experience teaching elementary/middle school students
- expertise in the Visual Arts
- enthusiasm and creativity
- strong interpersonal skills
- the ability to work in collaboration with a teaching team in an arts-infused environment.
Experience teaching students with learning differences is a plus.
Ideally, the candidate will have teaching certification in the District of Columbia, or be eligible and/or willing, with support, to complete the requirements for this certification.
All faculty and staff employed by Lab must be fully vaccinated against covid-19 or submit an official medical exemption.
