Position Summary:
The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for coordinating and implementing the University's online communication efforts, largely focused on web content, but also social media, digital advertising, and email marketing, as well as supporting other areas of Communication & Marketing.
The Digital Content Specialist is a member of the University Web team and coordinates through that group to offer content support and brand oversight to the university's individual website administrators. The position works collaboratively with the Web Designer and the Web Content/Social Media Coordinator to share content through a variety of channels.
This position will assist in front-end webpage development, following specific direction from the Web Designer and adhering to University branding guidelines. Proficiency in using Wordpress, or a similar content management system, to create and manage webpages and web media is required.
This position also works directly with the Director of University Marketing to plan, create and implement a university digital communication strategy including digital advertising, email messaging, social media and web features, and promotion of university events.
Minimum Education/Experience/Skill :
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skill :
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Mass Communication or New Media preferred.
Experience in digital content strategy, Wordpress or another CMS, Google Analytics, and AgoraPulse. Skills or experience in SEO optimization, responsive web design, and accessibility best practices. Proficient in HTML and CSS.
