DIVERSITY AND EQUITY EDUCATION COORDINATOR
Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this position will be to assist in the development, marketing, facilitation, and assessment of educational initiatives related to equity, inclusion, and diversity on campus. This position will work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff not only to meet minimum training requirements but also to be responsive to the Davidson community in creating educational opportunities that increase campus knowledge and skills in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate would possess a strong knowledge base and experience in educating others on issues surrounding disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, nationality, race, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.
This position will be supervised by the Title IX Coordinator/Section 504 Coordinator & Compliance Officer.
Job Duties
- Assist in the development and facilitation of trainings on a wide array of topics including but not limited to Discrimination & Harassment, Bias, Disability Accessibility, Gender & Sexuality, and Race.
- Aid in creating trainings customized to the Davidson College community.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, to facilitate trainings for college employees including mandatory reporter training, responsible employee training, and diversity-related portions of new employee orientation and supervisor training.
- Collaborate with Student Life diversity-related trainings for new student orientation.
- Help maintain and coordinate online training platforms utilized by the college.
- Assist in tracking, assessment, and reporting on the effectiveness of diversity and equity compliance education initiatives.
- Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with other programming professionals and student organizations on campus.
- Consult and act as resource to departments who are seeking to expand diversity education offerings within their department.
- Identify relevant topics and speakers to bring to campus.
- Assist in creating a resource library of materials for a variety of diversity-related programs and initiatives including professional development and student leadership development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree.
- Experience with creating and conducting diversity and inclusion, trainings, with at least two years of experience in education or training facilitation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues surrounding disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, nationality, race, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.
- 1 year of experience related to diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, or restorative justice in higher education.
Additional Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience or training on federal civil rights law and policy.
- Demonstrated experience working with online training platforms.

- Ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff.
- Experience with creating and conducting employee and/or student programming.
- Strong organizational skills, detailed orientated, Ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of best practices in teaching, learning, and curriculum development in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.
