Job Summary:
The Integrated Media Department at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach journalism (3/3 load) beginning Fall 2024. Primary responsibilities of this position include teaching journalistic writing, editing, and reporting. Additionally, ability to teach courses focused on radio/podcasting, new/emerging media platforms, design and layout, photo/visual journalism, media law, media history, and/or non-fiction storytelling are highly desirable, as is a teacher-scholar who will address questions of diversity, equity, social justice, and the common good across the curriculum in alignment with Gonzaga's mission.
We wish to welcome teacher-scholars who possess strong pedagogical abilities, with particular sensitivity to inclusive, equity-minded teaching practices and who have demonstrated experience or interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students from a variety of backgrounds and identities, including those historically marginalized in the academy.

Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD, MFA, MA or MS in Journalism or related field.
- Ability to teach courses in journalistic writing, editing, and reporting.
- Two years of professional and/or teaching experience in journalism.
- Demonstrated ability to implement inclusive, equity-minded teaching practices.
