The User Experience and Assessment Librarian performs UX/UI design and user research to integrate library systems and tools to improve user experiences. This position serves on the Library Web Team and maintains effective and accessible content across Library and Technology Services websites and web applications. This position supports library data analysis and reporting needs, as well as provides training and consultation on assessment and reporting strategies to library staff. Additionally, this position participates in the effort for identifying and evaluating the use of new technologies to improve library resource access and teaching/learning support. 1. Manage UX/UI Design, User Research and Analytics (40%)
*Developing wireframes and design components for website and library applications
*Collecting and managing reports, analytics data and documentation of assessment efforts
*Assessing and advocating for user needs via data-driven research
*Conducting user research through stakeholder interviews, analytics and surveys
*Leading user testing and accessibility reviews of library web applications
*Administer Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for the library
2. Support content creation and accessibility (30%)
*Serves on the Library Web Team to support the development, maintenance and evaluation of the Library’s web presence, including the website, integrated web applications and user interfaces
*Create and curate library related content in Drupal CMS
*Developing and share best practices with other library content creators
*Support authentication and access to library subscribed resources (EZProxy, OpenAthens, etc)
*Participates in the ongoing assessment and enhancement of existing technology as well as new information technology
*Participates in open source initiatives (FOLIO, ReShare, VuFind, Islandora, ArchivesSpace, etc)
3. Provides library systems support and consultation (20%)
*Provides library staff and users with ongoing support, training and consultation in the areas of using library applications and access to collections
*Responds to questions via chat, email, phone, SMS and provides remote support
*Helps track and, when necessary, escalate issues and problems by referring to other units and specialists as appropriate and by following up on referred issues
*Communicates with colleagues about emerging issues in Library and Technology Services; documents problems and resolutions and shares as appropriate
4. Pursues professional development to support new initiatives and the evolving needs of existing systems and services (10%)
*Attends classes, seminars, workshops and vendor-sponsored training on technical issues relating to technologies supported by this position
*Develops specific skills through self-study, using reference materials, books and online tutorials
*Serves on various committees, project teams, and task forces charged with exploring, evaluating, recommending, planning, implementing or developing and maintaining software services
*Serve on the working groups of library consortia and multi-institutional projects

Grade: 9-40; $53,580-$65,210
This is an approximate range and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Library Science and/or Technology facing field; Master's Degree preferred
0-1 years of related work experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Flexible and responsive, with the ability to juggle competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
In-depth knowledge of keyword research and Google Analytics
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
Excellent computer skills with experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database software
Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
