Position Information
The Assistant Director for Special Programs and Outreach is a multifaceted role with two primary functions. The first function includes responsibility for ensuring the implementation, tracking and outcome dissemination of programs overseen by the Office of Technology Partnerships (OTP) at the University of California Riverside. This includes management of relationships with partners and sponsors, submission of proposals and reports, tracking of metrics, coordination of contracts and disbursements. The incumbent will develop and implement communication strategies to ensure maximum dissemination of OTP opportunities and activity outcomes through media, websites, newsletter, meetings and other channels. The incumbent will support the expansion of innovation and entrepreneurial training to multiple partners, national and international, ensuring effective coordination and maximum participation in programs from local, regional and national partners for the different initiatives led by the OTP. The second major function of this role includes responsibility for managing the operations and day to day activities of the iExCITE incubator affiliated with OTP. This includes managing of tenants, maintenance of facility and organizing meetings with the Board. Reporting to the UC Riverside Associate Vice Chancellor for Technology partnerships, the selected candidate will build and secure a pipeline of promising regional start-ups through various channels including through collaboration with UCR's EPIC (Entrepreneurial Proof of Concept and Innovation Center) program, the Office of Technology Commercialization and the OASIS initiative. The incumbent will work collaboratively with a variety of constituents and organizations in the region including, but not limited to, members of the Riverside Innovation Ecosystem as well as ecosystems in the surrounding areas.
The budgeted pay scale for this position is from $96,700 up to $140,400. The salary offer will be commensurate with the final candidate's related education and experience.

Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in the Microsoft Suite. Advanced knowledge of organization's Industry Alliance's programs. Ability to teach others.

Advanced analytical and statistical skills to evaluate information, procedures or situations to define a problem or objective, identify relevant concerns, recognize alternatives, formulate logical and objective conclusions, and prepare reports.
Advanced organizational and project management skills. Ability to lead a team, prioritize personal and team tasks and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep understanding of faculty and programmatic research interests within the University. Understanding of partnership agreements, patent law, licensing and commercialization.
