Launched in 2016, the GIS Professional Programs, or GISPP, encapsulate the Geography Department's non-thesis design and technology degrees in Cartography and GIS. GISPP offers two Master's of Science degrees, one online emphasizing GIS development and web map programming, and one on campus, allowing students to complete our resident Cartography and GIS courses in just one year. We also offer two, three-course online certificates in GIS fundamentals and advanced GIS topics. Over 200 students have graduated from our program since its launch! As a member of the GISPP team, you will play a critical role in helping us evolve and grow our brand presence, awareness, and recognition. We are looking for a creative, self-driven Communications Specialist (50% position) to design and implement all of GISPP's internal and external communications strategies, as well as craft compelling content for student recruitment initiatives and marketing campaigns.

You'll enjoy being part of our team because you will:

- Lead the creation of all internal and external GISPP communications.
- Manage GISPP's social media presence and evolve our brand image and reach.
- Liaison between GISPP and the Division of Continuing Studies to streamline how we track and manage prospective student leads.
- Collaborate with students, staff, and faculty to help coordinate GISPP events and generate engaging content.
- Play a strategic role in building a lifelong alumni network.

• 15% Monitors reach and effectiveness of communication campaigns, projects, and initiatives
• 15% Plans editorial content according to established goals and objects
• 10% Communicates with stakeholders to verify requests and identify editorial resources
• 50% Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
• 10% Provides project management and execution of communications programs, initiatives, and tactical plans

Bachelor's Degree
Marketing and Communications or related field.

- You are an excellent communicator, both in written and visual mediums.
- You are a strong graphic and media designer, with experience creating content for both web and print products (familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite a +).
- You have experience maintaining and updating websites (familiarity with WordPress a+).
- You appreciate a structured approach to marketing and lead management (familiarity with SalesForce a +).
- You possess general knowledge about Cartography and/or GIS.

Part Time: 50%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Ongoing/Renewable

Minimum $42,600 ANNUAL (12 months)
