Instructor, Biology
The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Department of Biology seeks applicants for a full-time, three-year term Instructor of Biology position, starting in January 2024. This position involves teaching and coordinating multi-section laboratory classes for biology majors, for the general education program, and for nursing students, as well as teaching anatomy and physiology lectures to nursing students. Coordination duties include revising and developing new curriculum, mentoring teaching assistants for all sections of the class, educating all lab instructors on safety and proper procedures for each lab, coordinating lab exams, and preparing necessary materials each week in coordination with the department's laboratory specialist.

The successful candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Biology, and required qualifications include: at least three years of full-time experience in teaching at the college level and at least three years of experience in coordinating and supervising multi-section, college-level biology laboratory classes. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing college-level biology laboratory activities and a successful history of attaining grant money in support of teaching.
