Position Summary:
The School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Sociology seeks instructors to teach undergraduate courses in Sociology. Specific courses to be taught will be determined by the department each semester. Courses may be introductory surveys or upper-level courses focused on specific themes or topics. As the instructor of record, the individual is responsible for preparing the course syllabus, delivering lectures, and leading discussions, assessing student work in a timely manner, holding weekly office hours, responding to student emails, and submitting final course grades to the registrar. Some courses will be offered in a range of modalities beyond traditional settings, including hybrids, online, satellite, and/or off-campus locations. Please specify is you are only willing to teach online, in-person, or are available for both. Minimum salary for 3-credit course is $7,788 ($2,596 per credit).
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's degree in Sociology or related field required; Ph.D. in Sociology or related field preferred. Previous teaching experience preferred.
